As the 2009 runs this year the runways of New York and London present their spring's hottest collection, and this designer clothes are very comfortable to watch and wear. Legoland California updated the recently unveiled presidential inauguration scene at the Carlsbad theme park to more closely resemble the wardrobes worn by First Lady Michelle Obama and first daughters Malia and Sasha.

Lego Michelle, who wore a red dress at the Capitol in Miniland USA before the inauguration, has changed into a yellow ensemble (no “lemon grass” Lego bricks were available).

The Lego first daughters switched from patriotic colors to their inauguration day finery — Malia in a periwinkle coat and Sasha in a pink jacket with orange scarf.


Even singer Aretha Franklin got a Lego makeover — donning her now familiar gray bow hat and matching outfit (although she looks like a killer fembot to me).

Patricia Araujo received a standing ovation after parading along the runway for the Complexo B brand late Friday to end the weeklong event in a city that delights in shocking the prudish with each year's Carnival celebration.

Complexo B designer Beto Neves said he invited Araujo to amaze the public.

"In fashion, the cool thing is to surprise," he told O Dia newspaper.

Globo Television's Web site called the 25-year-old Araujo "the star" of the show's final day, and model Isabeli Fontana told O Dia that Araujo "is the greatest."

Tall and slim, the dark-haired Araujo entered the catwalk wearing a long fur coat and quickly unveiled a short black-and-white dress to the applause of the hundreds of guests at the event.

"I love to be mobbed by the press," she told O Dia afterward. "I've always dreamed of being famous."

Her legal name is Patricia Oliveira, but she is known by the stage name of Araujo.

French Fashion Designer Ted Lapidus dies at age 79

Edmond "Ted" Lapidus (June 23, 1929 – December 29, 2008) a French fashion designer died at the age of 79 in a hospital in Cannes on the French Rivera, his family said.He will be buried in the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.

He died at 2:30 pm, suffered for several years from leukemia and died of respiratory failure, Rose Torrent replied.

Ted Lapidus born June 23, 1929 in Paris. He was the son of a Russian immigrant tailor who opened his fashion house in 1958. He started his own fashion in 1951 and gained reputation in 1960 when french celebrities wear his design like Brigitte Bardot and Alain Delon. He was also known as "designer of the street" in the 1960 fashion revolutionary.

Ted Lapidus was one great French designer , creator and pioneer of unisex fashion designer clothes looks. And with making blue jeans part of the mainstream of fashion design."Ted was the first designer of the nouvelle vague [new wave]," Lapidus's sister, Rose Torrente-Mett, told Agence France-Presse. "The whole world knew him."

After becoming a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Paris's exclusive high-fashion club, in 1963, Lapidus soon diversified the business into accessories, which he believed had a more lucrative future.

And he was dubbed as "the poet of high fashion" by president Nicolas Sarkozy and extended his condolences on his family, like his father Olivier Lapidus will continue his father works.
A funeral service will be held for the designer on Friday. He will be buried in the rambling Père Lachaise cemetery in eastern Paris.
